Abstract:The current study focused on the modification of PVDF membrane using methionine as an amino acid modifier. For this purpose, two different method including bulk modification and surface modification were performed. The dye adsorption capacity of resultant membranes was analyzed via batch experiments. UV-vis was applied to probe reduction of dye concentration with adsorption time for both adsorbing membranes. The result demonstrated that amino acid functionalization enhanced adsorption capacity of methylene blue dye, moderately. Finally, dye rejection and permeability of all samples were determined via dynamic experiments.
