Abstract:three-phase Load balancing transformer hastwo extra coupling winding in the secondary of each phase.One of the coupling windings from each phase is in serieswith that of the other phase and the set of these twowindings is reversely paralleled with the secondarywinding of the third phase. In unbalanced loads, thecurrent that is unbalance, flows through the coupling andsecondary windings that each winding is fed from primaryby using a separate phase. In this way, part of surpluscurrent of one phase is transferred to the other phases. Inthis paper based on the ordinary load-balancingtransformer, a new multi stage load balancing transformeris presented which is more effective in load-balancing. Theproposed and original load-balancing transformers aresimulated with MATLAB and the results are discussed.
