Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of strategic thinking of managers on optimism and job performance of employees at Kharg oil terminal. The research method is applied objectively and in terms of collecting data, it is a descriptive and survey method. All managers and employees of the Kharg oil terminal are 1,400 people of statistical population. A sample of 302 people was selected based on the Morgan table. The method of sampling is stratified random method. In order to collect field data, questionnaires of strategic thinking of managers in accordance with the indicators of Lidka model (1998), optimism of employees derived from a new model from the perspective of Nahjolbalagheh, Nouri (2008) and Paterson s job performance were used. Their validity and reliability were confirmed. Data analysis was performed using Pearson correlation test, variance analysis and multiple regression analysis using step by step method. The results of the hypothesis test indicate that strategic thinking has a significant direct impact on the three components of optimism. Also, strategic thinking has a significant direct impact on the two components of job performance. In fact, it can be said that the proposed conceptual model is proportional to the collected statistical data
