Abstract:

Introduction and objective :One of the most important methods of disease prevention, is the removal of the animals in infected farms which have been affected with a contagious disease, specially zones of highly pathogenic avian influenza, because of the fact that delayed control of the casualties and inappropriate destruction of the carcasses, can easily lead to thousands of disease agents being spread among the poultry population and heavy casualties, beside the possibility of human societies’ infections withCommon diseases between humans and animals.Regarding the international and health regulations and codes, best way of destroying an ill carcass is to burn it, but even this method has some troubles. Burning must include all the carcass parts (skin, feather, muscles, fats, and even skeleton) and practically should leave nothing behind. If the process only contained feather or animal skin burned, no disinfection has been done and the infection will spread again through muscles, skeleton and other internal organs. Therefore the best way for carcass burning, is to use carcass furnace. There are three major problems for infected poultry farmcontrol:1. Destruction of a large number of farm birds in a way that the blood or feather or other bird parts don’t infect farm environment and workers, is a hassle and can sometimes take large forces and equipment.2. After massacre of alive birds in a farm, next problem is to destroy the infected carcasses in a way that this large dangerous infected amount, be turned into a small risk-free substance. The burning of this large volume of carcasses with conventional facilities or traditional furnaces is not possible. In old days, a lot of carcasses weighed in weight of one cow, 20 kilos of chaff, 10 liters of oil and 2 tons of wood, or half a ton of wood and one ton of charcoal were needed. Of course, supplying this amount of wood and burning the carcass with them had many problems and dangers.3. Problems of current furnaces: Furnaces that are usually available in the country, have simple systems and are mostly designed for burning small amounts of carcasses and also most of these furnaces are immobile and not portable, which means that the furnaces must remain in a fixed location.Furthermore furnaces with a higher capacity and power, are super heavy and therefore immobile or even if portable, heavy vehicles (such as trailers) must be used that not only are inefficient in rural and impassable roads, but also are pretty expensive and lack the needed equipment for simultaneous birds’ easy-death and carcasses burning. Method and materials :Best way of killing alive birds morally and healthy in an infected farm, is to use carbon dioxide (CO2) gas. The invented furnace has the ability to enter alive birds into a death chamber and after death, automatically take them to the next parts of the machine to finish the burning process and eventually turn them to a small-sized disinfected compact powder which can easily be disposed. The invented furnace is in fact a technical hygienic industrial package in a small size, with the ability to be used for controlling and removal of an infected poultry zone. Results :There is no foreign or Iranian similar furnace with the above-mentioned features.Characteristics and unique features of the designed Iranian national furnace :The invented furnace has some unique features that foreign samples lack.- In foreign samples filling the furnace with carcasses is manual and semi-automatic in the advanced models, but in the designed furnace all the loading phases are mechanical and automatic.- Foreign furnaces lack an easy-death chamber. This means that they can only burndead birds and carcasses, but in passive defense operations and control of epidemics sometimes it’s needed to destroy even the alive birds in a polluted hall; naturally massacre of these birds is a major problem because we can not decapitate thousands of birds (not to mention that decapitation itself causes spread of disease agents through blood in the environment). In the national furnace to face this problem automatic and scientific equipment has been installed to transfer the birds into a death chamber first and to kill them there morally using CO2 . the carcasses go through the burning process afterward.- One of other advantages compared to foreign samples, is the added PLC system and an intelligent control system and the ability to install different related softwares in complete compatibility with the hardware of the furnace for the remote control and ease of usage, which foreign samples lack.- This furnace can be easily installed on a normal truck and therefore easily transferred to polluted zones.- The furnace is also hybrid and the needed fuel is supplied using both gasoline and CNG.
