Abstract:

Objectives:Influenza is an acute respiratory disease caused by infection with influenza viruses.Avian influenza (AI) viruses are members of the family Orthomyxoviridae. AI is a contagious viralinfection that can affect several species of food producing birds as well as pet birds and wild birds.AI viruses can be classified into two categories: low pathogenicity (LPAI) and highly pathogenic(HPAI) forms, based on the severity of the illness caused in birds.The aim of this study was tomonitor mean antibody titer of influenza virus(H9N2) in commercial farms in Varamin using HIassays.Materials & Methods:In this study,300 samples were collected from lar.Blood samples were transported to the laboratory and were examined using the hemagglutinationinhibition(HI) assay.The results were recorded and analyzed using version 18.0 of SPSS statistical software.Results & Conclusion:In the present study, HI tests showed that the lowest was 1.7 and the highestwas 12.1antibody titer and the avarage was 6.4 with and respectively.According to the resultsthere is a need more surveillance on poultry in the country and planning for the control of avian influenza.
