Abstract:

IntroductionUse of robots in surgery is a new technology. The first documented use of robots in surgery was in 1985 when a surgical arm was used in a delicate neurosurgical biopsy. . Da Vinci and Zeus are the most famous robotic systems used in surgery. Because robotic surgery is at the cutting edge of accuracy and miniaturization in the area of surgery, the possible applications are as extensive as the uses of minimally invasivesurgery (MIS). There is no doubt that they will become an important tool in the surgical armamentarium, but the extent of their use is still evolving. The purpose of this study was to review the use of robots in .surgeryMaterial & MethodsPubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar searches were carried out using the keywords ‘ .’robot-assisted surgery’, ‘robotic surgery’, ‘surgical robotics ‘ and ‘robot and surgery Results The use of robots in a variety of surgeries especially in particular in MIS has found its way and is constantly expanding and evolving. The benefits of RAS include: Increasing the extent of the surgeon’s vision, less tiredness of the surgeon, comfortable access to sensitive areas of the body, less surgical site .infection, less pain and blood loss, less trauma on the body, Minimal scarring, and quicker recovery Conclusion Both surgeons and patients benefit from robot surgery. Therefore, this method has been used in varioussurgical fields. Despite the advances made in this regard, there is a need for more cooperation in the field of robotics and medicine, as well as standardized credentialing and training of surgeons for robotic sur- .gery. Patients will also be aware of the benefits of this surgical method than traditional surgical methods
