Abstract:

The purpose of this research was to predict mental health in accordance with moral development and personality traits with the intermediary role of thinking styles. The statistical population consisted of a majority of samples ranging from 19 to 35 years of age within Tehran, Iran. From the sampling at hand, the author chose 161 individuals. All the aforementioned samples completed the following questionnaires: Symptom Checklist-25 questionnaire, Neuroticism - Extraversion - Openness Five-Factor Inventory-60 questionnaire, the questionnaire of Moral Development Criterion for Children, Pre-adolescents and Adolescents, and Thinking Style Inventory-65 questionnaire. The researcher used AMOS 24 to achieve Structural Equations Modelling for the analysis of the research data. The data in this descriptive research showed that personality traits and thinking styles had significant and positive relations with one another. On the other hand, moral development and mental health showed no meaningful relations, whether directly or with Thinking Styles as the mediation between the two variables.
