Abstract:
Energy consumption of battery-based nodes and net-work traffic optimization are two main challenges associated with wireless sensor networks and the traditional digital control archi-tecture is not optimized from these perspectives. Thus, using opti-mal control theory and event-based control concept, we propose a novel architecture to tackle the regulation and tracking problems in wireless sensor networks. The proposed algorithm is realized in Matlab software as well as a laboratory setup. The result show, the proposed algorithm is able to reduce network traffic and subse-quently energy consumption of the nodes significantly.
