Abstract:

considering the important and influential role of rotorcraft Vertical Take-Off & Landing (VTOL) flyers in short-range air operations and an increase of the application of these robots, the stability of these flyers is very important. The investigation and simulation of the dihedral effect on the flying of quadrotor robot VTOL flyers has been addressed in this paper. This drone has 4 motors and thrust force is generated through transferring the motor power to propellers. Control and stability of this flying object is possible by changing motor rotations. The dihedral effect on increasing stability and resistance against control turbulences of these robots have been investigated by changing the angle on the installation plate of motors and by modeling dihedral effect on fixed-wing flyers and modeling this flying object. Moreover, the carried out simulations have led to very hopeful results.
