Abstract:

MWCNTs were used for the first time to extract the volatile oil of the Salvia nemorosa stem bark through non-covalent interactions between the surface of MWCNTs and oil segments. Analyzing the absorbed volatile oil using GC and GC-MS showed that it iscontaining thirty one componds. A comparison of the chemical composition of the oil was made with that of others methods on earial parts of Salvia nemorosa using nano tube and hydrodistillaion methods. MWCNTs were washed by water and organic solventsand they were used repeatedly. Among the 31 compounds identified, pentadecane 1.80%, Heneiosane 2.29%, tetratricontane 3.07% and erucylamide 14.08% as the major constituents. Results showed no sign of the decreasing the extraction capacity of MWCNTs after multiple cycles.
