Abstract:
The objectives of this research are to fabricate and investigate nano zero-valent iron (nZVI) immobilized onto graphene oxide (GO)-PVDF composite. The properties of composites are emphasized to capability dechlorinate of tetrachloroethene(PCE) and trichloroethene(TCE) by nano zero-valent iron (nZVI) onto GO- PVDF.The membrane-supported of PVDF-GO fabricated employed as direct to immobilize nZVI particles. The optimized ratio of PVDF-GO-nZVI membranes with different GO were tested with two typical nZVI-targeted contaminants, TCE and PCE via gravity-driven membrane filtration. The results show that membrane with 1% GO had the best nZVI distribution against the aggregation and a better performance in PCE removal (85%) and TCE removal (82%). Generally, the developed PVDF-GO-nZVI membrane had an excellent performance in filtration system for groundwater remediation. The membrane fabrication were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscope (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD).
