Abstract:
The perovskite-structured La2CuO4 nanoparticles (LCO NPs) were synthesized by a sonochemical process. The phase composition, morphology, lattice parameters and size of nanoparticles were characterized through fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The synthesized perovskite had comparatively pure crystalline phase of LCO. These nanoparticles were used as an efficient and effective catalyst for the one- pot synthesis of pipyridine derivatives. The products were characterized by melting point, FT-IR and 1HNMR techniques.
