Abstract:
The graphene oxide-based nanomaterials application has recently attracted severalresearchers in drug delivery field; because of their valuable properties. A drug carrier systemof the nanofibers based on the electrospinning of graphene oxide, chitosan, polyvinyl alcohol, and polyethylene oxide has been developed to deliver and monitor the drug release by theeffect on melanoma cancer cells. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and scanningelectron microscopy confirmed the successful drug loading. Cellular toxicity assay exhibiteddrug loaded-graphene oxide nanofibers are biocompatible having cell viability greater than80% for melanoma cell line. In vitro dissolution studies using cell line showed that most ofthe drug was released in 0–72 h from drug loaded nanofibers and, hence, these modifiednanofibers have the potential for drug delivery purposes.
