A comparison between efficiencies of polymer flooding and IOR methods in a fractured and conventional syntheticmodel

The petroleum industry recognized the problem of inefficient oil recovery by conventional (primaryand secondary) recovery methods in the early 1900’s. since then, extensive research has beenconducted on improvement of displacement and sweep efficiency in petroleum recovery. Manydifferent processes have been designed to improve displacement efficiency by reducing residual oilsaturation. This research presents a comprehensive study on modeling polymer flooding on NFRs andcomparing the results with IOR methods such as water and gas injection using eclipse software.A synthetic conventional reservoir also has been made based on the main model (SPE6-FRAC) to compare the efficiency of the polymer flooding and IOR methods in a conventionalreservoir and a dual porosity model.
