Abstract:

Optimization of an EOR/IOR techniques with running simulations on a comprehensive model takestoo much time and cost. Thus, developing a conceptual model, which contains main reservoirproperties and characteristics, is considered as a proper alternative technique. In this work, practicability of WAG injection on naturally fractured reservoirs (NFRs) is examined with simulatingthe process with conceptual model. With optimizing gas/water ratio, WAG injection has greater fieldoil efficiency than single gas or water injection in NFR. Simulations shows that, in WAG injection themobility has been controlled well and the sweep efficiency is much larger than other methods. Thus, itis suggested after a period of single fluid injection which maintain the reservoir pressure, WAGinjection is useful and able to sweep considerable residual oil in NFRs.
