Abstract:

In Iran, a large part of the national territory is covered by sand. One of the major problems of this sand is low resistivity in terms of natural moisture and saturation. In this study, which is based on laboratory works, amendment of CBR of this soil has been studied by using polyvinyl alcohol polymer as grout. So many examples of combining these materials with soil were made and compaction and CBR tests on these samples were carried out. The effect of polymer amount used in this experiment on CBR and polymer strength was investigated to protect clay and cement mix against scour. Results have shown that adding polymer grout to soil, the dry density increases maximum and the number of CBR significantly improve
