Abstract:

Each Signalized intersections is an important part of an urban roads in transportation systems, regulate the flow ofvehicles in urban areas. Traffic movements through intersections are controlled by the signal system causing delays tovehicles due to stops during the red time. There are some models to compute the Signalized intersection cycle length.This study give a review of TRANSYT and Synchro models. In this paper our purpose is comparing model by using theWebster delay model as well. To test the effectiveness of these two models we used the network with 4 intersections.Main Street estimated with 15 different volume levels. The simulation of common cycles by models at different volumelevels are conducted by four simulation tools which are TRANSYT-14, Synchro, SUMO and Simtraffic. The Results ofthe effectiveness of used models are drawn through amount of experiments. It is not simple to say which model is thebest and which is the second best and so on, because MOEs at different volume are different. Overall, TRANSYT havebetter MOEs at most levels of volume.
