Abstract:

Thymoma is a tumor originating from the ephithelial cells of thymus and it is found in 15-20% of patients with myasthenia gravis. The most commonly affected muscles in myasthenia gravis are those of eyes, face, and swallowing. It can result in double vision, ptosis, trouble talking and trouble walking. In the rare case of a malignant Thymoma, chemotherapy may be used before surgery A 35 years old male referred to our hospital for mediastinal mass. The patient signs began 3 mounts before admission starts with paresis and numbness in left foot, trouble talking and ptosis. In early workups a medistinal mass has found and the patient 3 times received chemotherapy. Following Thymectomy, ICU care and physiotherapy in our hospital, vocal and breathing problems getting better.: : Although thymomatous myasthenia gravis tends to have a difficult course and poor prognosis, early and aggressive treatment along with multidisciplinary management may improve the outcome of these patients
