Abstract:

Compressed air system has many applications in industries and reportedly consume about %6 of total energy. It has many advantages and it is often considered the fourth utility at many facilities. The proper use of air system can play a vital role in control energy consumption and also reducing the cost of maintenance and repairs. In this study, the losses of compressed air distribution network are measured at cement plant. Moreover, practical solutions have been provided in order to optimize of air compressed and reducing of air leakage. The investigation shows that the use of after cooler, Auto Drain optimizing storage of compressed air and reducing of inlet temperature of air compressor have been decreased the network energy losses. In addition to, compressor depreciation and electrical energy consumption are also reduced by using the reducing of the operation time and compressed air leakage.
