Abstract:

In this article, nonlinear consolidation in saturated of homogeneous clay layer has been survey ed to evaluate excess pore water pressure in depth of layer by considering time dependent drainage model. Generalized DifferentialQuadrature Method (GDQM) has been used for numerical modeling of equations. Modeling procedure is as follows: atfirst, independent variable domains (i.e., time and clay layer depth) were discretized by Chebyshev -Gauss-Lobatto series. Then system of nonlinear equations which had been obtained from the GDQM was calculated by means of theNewton-Raphson method. Results indicate that GDQM has a great accuracy and low computational efforts for calculation of excess pore water pressure in nonlinear consolidation phenomenon
