Abstract:

An increased need for more energy, require growth in energy production from diverse sources. Sustainable development requires a continuous source of energy with reasonable cost and compete with other energy sources and can reduce the negative effects.In recent years, microalgae have been gaining attraction as a renewable source in energy production. Biophotovoltaic systems utilize oxygenic photosynthetic organisms (e.g. microalgae and cyanobacteria), to harvest light energy to generate electricity, essentially, in the lack of an organic feedstock. The objective of the present research is to study application different OD of wet biomass in biologic panel to enhance electricity generation by wet biomass of green microalgae Chlorella sp. The electrodes carbon cloth/ stainless steel grating were used. Voltage to be increased with multilayer meshing electrode. Maximum voltage is 0.482 (v) in this system. These results indicated that higher OD better promoted in generating voltage from wet biomass due to higher induced power intensities to the Chlorella sp. cells.
