Abstract:
A novel Nano-Structured microfibrillar morphology, in which nanocomposite fibrils uniformly distributed in thecross section of fiber, was successfully developed using fibrillation process by using oriented carbon nanotube. Theresults revealed that carbon nanotube (CNT) could have different effects on microstructure depending on thenanotube localization and orientation. In the sample with 1wt% carbon nanotube content, the CNT mostly locatedin the interface and improved microfibril formation while at 3wt% CNT content major part of nanotube selectivelypartitioned inside the PBT droplets which destroyed microfibrillar morphology development.
