Abstract:

One of the most important life-threatening disorders, myocardial infarction (MI) has been receiving more and more attention in the recent century. Caused by an interaction between genetics and environment, it’s a multifactorial metabolic disease. Between the genetic variants increasing the susceptibility to this disease are the SNP of SDF1 gene which havebeen pinpointed in 2007 using the GWA new technology. It’s believed that they are involved in hemostasis and signaltransmission. Investigations made on these SNP in different societies have shown a meaningful relation. Material and Method: To determine the relation between this SNP and MI, a case-control study has been organized .Based upon the WHO criteria;the subjects are selected from the patients (140) and normal consultants of Vali Aasr Hospital. The genomic DNA has been extracted from the subjects’ blood samples and the genotypes have been determined by PCR-RFLP technique. Using SPSS software, the genotyping results have been analyzed statistically. For allelic and genotypic ratio comparison, the chi square test is implicated. The logistic regression analysis with or without age, sex, BMI compatibility is made aswell (the P value < 0/05 considered as meaningful). Results: After all statistical analyses ,the results are as follow: SDF 1-3 A : the G allele frequency (mutant allele) - ، 78%-is considerably higher in case group compared with that of control group-67.5%.The logistic regression test has interpreted theodd ratio of GG genotype in compare with GG(OR: 2.867,%95 CI: 1.733-4.607,P; 2.867 )genotype as fully meaningful. Conclusions: The results of this study reveals a meaningful correlation between SNP;SDF 1-3 A and the increased risk of developing MI.
