Abstract:Price/Performance is as a critical issue for computing and it will be affected on selecting job scheduling mechanism. This article discusses issues related to job scheduling on cluster systems and introduces some scheduling mechanism for better selection based on evaluating different performance measurements that simulated by Alea3, the simulator of job scheduler in distributed applications in cluster environment, this performance metrics guide to evaluate the best solution in trade-off between High Usage Levels versus Low Average Responsiveness Time in various mechanisms. FCFS, EDF and Easy-backfilling algorithms evaluated and simulated on simulator.
