Abstract:

While there is generally great interest in how languages are learned in the modern classroom, the question arises as to what type of grammar instruction is most effective .This paper is divided into four sections. In the first part brief definitions and principleof these approaches will be provided. (A deductive approach (rule-driven) starts with the presentation of a rule and is followed by examples in which the rule is applied .An inductive approach (rule-discovery) starts with some examples from which a rule is inferred.) Next, the advantages and disadvantages of these approaches are mentioned. Then the main differences between a deductive and an inductive teaching will be highlighted. Then combination of deductive and inductive approach is presented
