Abstract:

The purpose of research involving translation quality assessment should be very clear from the outset. A common purpose, obviously, to assess and compare the quality of one or more translations and the outcome of this exercise usually involves a pronouncement on the level of translation quality, sometimes in comparison with other translations. As a consequence, the present study aimed to explore translation quality assessment of House s revised model (1977) through the analyzed of lexical, syntactic and textual means at the level of Language/ text, function of text, mode, register and genre. In other words, the most important issue to consider assess the translation of poem by Forugh Farrokhzad as a literary text. According to House s model, literary translation is a type of translation means distinguished from translation in general. On the other hand, Poetry is the most personal and concentrated of the four forms, no redundancy, no phatic language, where, as a unit, the word has greater importance than in any other type of text. The English translation of the poem On The Earth by Behrooz Azabdaftri was assessed based on House TQA mdel.
