Abstract:
In this paper, the fabrication of free-standing, highly conductive and flexible reduced graphene oxide (rGO) thin film has been reported. Reduced graphene oxide thin film has large specific surface area, superior chemical stability, high electrical conductivity and it is an excellent candidate as the electrode material in energy storage devices such as electric double-layer capacitors (EDLC), hybrid supercapacitors and rechargeable batteries. In this paper GO nanosheets were synthesized by modified Hummer’s method and thermally reduced to rGO. The synthetic method used here is compatible with industry and roll-to-roll processing technology. The electrochemical test shows a specific capacitance of about 100 mF/cm2 showing its good potential to be used as a supercapacitor electrode.
