Abstract:
In telecommunication systems, inter symbol interference (ISI) increase the bit error rate (BER). Adaptive Equalizer is one of the ways to reduce the effect of interference between symbols. Adaptivealgorithms should be selected which have good ability to track changes and low computational complexity. In this paper, the variable step size set-membership algorithm (VSS-SM-NSAF) is presented. In the proposed algorithm, a separate step size is allocated to each subband to minimize the mean square error (MSE) and the mean square deviation (MSD) of at each step of the iteration and adaption. The simulation results show the good performance of the proposed algorithm at a high convergence rate and low level of mean square error (MSE) and symbol error rate (SER) in the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). Also, this paper compares the computational complexity of the proposed algorithm with NSAF and SMNSAF, Which demonstrates the low computational complexity of the algorithm proposed compared to other algorithms in the application of equalizer
