Abstract:

Interconnected systems consist of a huge number of coupled subsystems. This coupling results in the existence of uncertain interactions between them and leads to a major problem of fault estimation (FE) and fault-tolerant control (FTC) designs in the presence of undesired faults. This article introduces a design strategy for the FE and FTC for interconnected systems with uncertain interactions and actuator faults. To ensure the robust stability of the overall interconnected system, a decentralized FTC controller is built using state/fault estimations provided by an adaptive observer at the same time. The gains of the observer and the controller are solved by the formulation of linear matrix inequality.
