Abstract:
The major role of coatings in corrosion protection is creating a dense barrier against corrosiveenvironments. Yet, caused damages during the operation of the coated structures provide direct access of corrosive agents to the metal surface. In this study, self-healing coatingscreated on 7075 aluminum layer and were investigated the effect of coating time on the morphology, the inhibition percentage and corrosion behavior of these coatings. Self-healingcoatings by sol-gel method has applied under Immersion Process on 7075 aluminum. Surface Topography (AFM) in different coating times, surface morphology and also the thickness anduniformity of coating has reviewed and compared using Scanning Electron Microscope (FESEM) and reviewing of Phase properties of the coating by X-ray diffraction (GI-XRD) andInfrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR) by Ellipsometry Test. It was found that the surface morphology of all coatings show a Homogeneous and uniform structure. The corrosionresistance of the coatings in solutions Nacl% wt. 3.5 was evaluated by methods of Tafel polarization and electrochemical impedance (EIS). The results showed that the corrosionresistance increases with increasing inhibitor. It represents the creating a homogeneous, uniform, crack-free with improved corrosion resistance is excellent.
