Abstract:
The main objective of this research is to focus on what we call reading, understanding without judgment, to examine issues related to the understanding of architectural monuments especially through the mosques in Iran, by the understanding of the relationship between form and a symbol using studies and library documents, to the extent possible, to provide the theoretical basis for entering this important issue on the Iran mosque architecture.Attempts have been made to determine the views of various documents and studies in the field of architectural reading? And what factors are important factors in understanding and reading of Iranian mosques?Finally it seems that architectural monuments reading are seen from different angles. The most important architectural approaches are Structuralism approaches, formalism, deconstruction and phenomenology, hermeneutics. However, the reading categories, brings sciences such as linguistics, semiotics, and many other sciences in architecture. But, several factors are important in understanding the mosques in reading mosques in Iran with an emphasis on the relationship between form and symbol, to better understand the factors they can be placed in four categories including: Physical features and form, Internal volume, inner space and spatial relationships, surrounding urban context associated with the mosque, Symbolism and hidden meanings.
