Investigating and Identifying Indexes and Criteria of Sustainable Architecture In Designing Museums (Case Study: Iron Age Museum of Tabriz)

Museums are places to retain and keep monuments and historic buildings and cultural heritages of any nation for the next generations. It is also like a mirror reflecting the expansion, sustainable development, and intellectual and scientific promotion of society. Museum in one hand is a symbol of creativity of architects in its design and plan and on the other hand represents national identity and historical background of any nation. Therefore museum could have typical pattern-like reflection in society, so paying attention to objectives of sustainable development in designing of museums would lead to preach of patterns of sustainable architecture in society. Applying sustainable concepts and objectives of sustainable development in order to reduce energy loss and environmental pollution in architecture has created a concept termed as sustainable architecture . In this type of architecture building is not only constructed in accordance with climatic conditions of the region, but also interacts with it. In this article which has been developed based on descriptive-analytical method with holistic perspective, it has been tried to determine and identify criteria of designing of sustainable architecture in museums by studying national and foreign research references.
