Abstract:
In recent years, hybrid methods have widely been used by researchers to solve decision making problems. The combination of fuzzy AHP and fuzzy TOPSIS is one of these methods. Following this approach, FAHP is used to obtain weight of criteria (or sub-criteria) and FTOPSIS to rank alternatives. Paksoy et al (2012) use FAHP and HFTOPSIS separately to solve their problem with similar results. We contribute by showing in this paper when the two methods are combined, different results may be obtained. This is an essential problem because different rankings can affect the quality of decision making and may lead to wrong decisions. In this paper, we propose a hybrid method based on combination of fuzzy AHP, fuzzy TOPSIS, simulation and linear assignment to solve this problem. The proposed method is compared with the above hybrid method using two numerical examples. The results show that our method is more accurate and effective.
