Abstract:
A one dimensional heterogeneous mathematical model of steam reforming of methane (SRM) has been presented in which outlet syngas of this reactor enters the Fischer Tropsch (FT) reactor as feed. This configuration is used to investigate hydrocarbon products distribution from methane feed. First reactor (SRM) is fed by methane and steam and the products of the first reactor are converted to hydrocarbons by FT reactor (second reactor). The performance of the two consecutive reactors was evaluated by varying several parameters such as steam to methane ratio. This work shows that how simple variations of SRM feed improve the yields of valuable hydrocarbons.
