Abstract:

Introduction: In the last decade, we have seen the growth and diffusion of smartphone technology in health care. Nowadays, the functionality of this technology is visible in the operating rooms, because it allows surgeons and even personnel to search for clinical information, communicate with colleagues, and take pictures and educational videos of it. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the capabilities of smartphone technology in the operating room.Methods: The present study was a systematic overview with a comprehensive search of web sites, validated journals, Scopus, SID, Google Scholar, ISC and related articles in this field. The combination of them was used to search the English input language and key words Smartphone, surgical technology, operating room, and the time range from 2015 to 2018 was considered for the selection of articles. The articles were found in about 145 articles, of which about 110 articles were included in the study, and then these articles were evaluated in terms of title, abstract and full text. After removing repetitive and unrelated, about 63 related articles Was selected by research.Results: The results of the studies showed that the use of smartphone technology in the operating room environment improves access to information and clinical education through communication with other parts of the hospital and avoids some kind of time waste of personnel and surgeons. And they sharpen their accuracy in surgical procedures and greatly reduces medical errors during surgery.Conclusion: The studies have shown that smartphone technology has been substantially approved by the use of surgeons and operating room personnel, and somehow in the near future we will see the epidemic of this new technology in other parts of the hospital. Because of this technology, personnel have found a high level of learning and communication, and due to having strong and effective clinical training, the staff will have a high level of knowledge in their field of work.
