Abstract:

The study population was nursing students of Kurdistan University of Medical Sciences and Islamic Azad University, Sanandaj Branch. Of these, 350 cases were examined using randomized quotas. To collect data, a two-part questionnaire including demographic characteristics and 25 questions about the Crimean Congo hemorrhagic Fever were used. Collected data was entered into the computer and analyzed with SPSS version 21 software. Results: The mean scores of knowledge of the studied students from 50 total scores were 19.55 ± 12.47. This average in Kurdistan University of Medical Sciences students was 20.53 ± 12.30 and in Islamic Azad University students was 12.51 ± 18.55. The results of the study showed that 47.1% of students had poor knowledge, 44.9% had moderate knowledge, and only 8% of them had a good knowledge about Crimean Congo emorrhagic Fever. In the cases of the Kurdistan University of Medical Sciences, these numbers were 43.5%, 48% and 8.5%, respectively, and for students of Islamic Azad University, these numbers were 50.9%, 41.6% and 7.5%, respectively. There was a statistically significant difference between students knowledge about Crimean Congo Hemorrhagic Fever and age (p <0.001), maternal education (p = 0.02), educational term (p <0.001), and source of information about the disease (p <0.001).Conclusion: Given the poor awareness of the majority of people about this disease, continuing education courses with emphasis on ways to prevent the Crimean Congo Hemorrhagic Fever is necessary.
