Abstract:

Background: Leishmaniasis is the main problem in vector borne diseases in many parts of Iran. Sandflies are the only vectors in epidemiology cycle of Leishmaniasis in the world. Study on the sand flies is requirement to catch, collecting and transport of them in the cage or release in the nature for ecological surveys and other purpose such as artificial infection for laboratory experimental Objective: So Study of the sand flies is requirement to the safety transmission of them from field to laboratory or opposite and it is the very important in validity results of any test or experimental surveys.Material and methods: This aspirator has been made of a fan and energy suppliers, a glass tube and one encasement for collecting sandflies and it has ability for work under both field and laboratory conditions. Results: This aspirator hasn’t any noise that threatens animals and it is safe for applier, particularly in field study, against of pathogens such as histoplasmosis and respiratory allergen agents. It has a low weight and it is easily usable by any appliers. Despite of handy aspirators, it has a collecting site in behind of ending of entering tube, that aid the researchers that collect sandflies without pushing them on each other. This innovative invented electric aspirator has patent right and has been registered in Intellectual Property Center, Patent Office of the National Agency for the Registration of Property and Documents, Iran Conclusion: By this aspirator, the sandflies are collected easy and safely transport for all aims of studies and appliers will be safe.
