Abstract:

Nowadays using solar adsorption chiller has a good prospect in hot and arid regions. In this paper, design, dynamic simulation and evaluation the performance of solar cooling system including adsorption chiller, parabolic trough solar collector and thermal energy storage, with the aim of providing stable cooling power even during night without sunshine in low thermal capacity of residential building in weather condition of Tehran (Latitude 35° ,Longitude 51° ) on July 15 has been discussed. The governing equations of adsorption chiller and thermal heat storage tank have been solved based on fourth order Runge-Kutta method simultaneously. Two- bed adsorption chiller with working pair of silica gel-water used in this paper and Ls-3 type of parabolic trough collector which is connected to thermal heat storage tank containing a heat transfer fluid of Therminol VP-1 synthetic oil. The useful energy gained from the sun during the day and the required heat energy for adsorption chiller has been designed and set to maintain the fed hot water temperature of desorber bed at the proper amount of 86.3 ℃ at all times of system operation till The volatility of the outlet chilled water temperature of the chiller evaporator reduced as much as possible, Thereby, cyclic average cooling capacity with approximately 4 tons of refrigeration and coefficient of performance of 0.5 during 24 hours a day has been produced, That is remarkable in comparison with the results of other researchers.
