Experimental Investigation of Mechanical Properties of Welded Pipe

In this paper changing mechanical properties of pipes through arc welding is investigated experimentally. Pipes are welded following AWS D1.1 standards. To compare mechanical properties, specimens are provided form both welded and non-welded pipes. The tests of tension and impact have been carried out to study property changes of specimens. Based on obtained results of this study it could be expressed that arc welding increases yielding stress of the pipe and makes the fragments more brittle.
