Abstract:

In this paper a new computational method based on AI methods called Bayesian theory is used for voltage transient instability prediction. The ability of the proposed theory is determined by the system and load characteristics, and the interactions of both continuous and discrete controls and protections. For sample generation a series of measurements are taken with 50ms sampling windows under various faults including operational and topological disturbances. The performance of proposed method is verified on 39 IEEE dynamic test system and the simulation results are presented for Bayesian training and testing. The results show the ability and influence of the proposed method for voltage transient instability prediction and can be used for protection devices.
