Abstract:
Dynamic Flow Controller (DFC) is a new member of FACTS controller which introduced in 2007. This controller is a combination of several switching elements which ends to discrete characteristic. In this paper with considering a Dynamic model for DFC, small signal stability of power system in local mode oscillation is analyzed. The results of designing a sliding mode controller for switching elements of DFC revealed that DFC is capable for damped out of local mode oscillation in power systems. Based on the defined cost function in this paper, there is an optimized cooperation between the response speed and DFC elements values.
