Abstract:

One of the most influential factors in the success of an organization is the issue of job satisfaction. It depends on various factors among which the accepted culture in the organization could be one of the most effective. Understanding the relationship between job satisfaction and organizational culture is of great significance because it helps authorities to improve efficiency and motivation in working situation. The purpose of the present study was to compare school teachers and institute teachers’ job satisfaction with regard to organizational culture. The statistical society of the study, which was selected randomly, included 133 male and female teachers (70 school teachers and 63 institute teachers) in Gorgan city in the school year 2014. Spector’s job satisfaction survey (1997) and Hofstede’s organizational culture questionnaire (1991) were used as data collection tools. Analysis of data revealed that there was a significant relationship between organizational culture and job satisfaction in both organizations; however, institute teaches were more satisfied. Moreover, considering gender differences, women were more satisfied than men.
