Abstract:

The aim of the present study was to measure creative problem solving and reading comprehension ability of Iranian EFL learners and find out about aprobable relationship between them. To this end 07 second grade EFL learners were randomly selected among secondary school students. Torrance Test ofCreative Thinking was used to measure creative problem solving skill, and a valid and reliable teacher made reading comprehension test was applied tomeasure the reading comprehension ability. Analysis of the data revealed a positively significant relationship between the two variables. The findingssuggested a dire need of inserting creatively problem solving tasks within the related curriculum and course materials as a means of improving reading comprehension ability of Iranian EFL learners. These findings can have some other beneficial pedagogical implications for language learners, teachers, and syllabus designers in Iranian educational system which are discussed in detail
