Abstract:

To investigate various factors that affect inferential comprehension of EFL learners, thirty six students with different levels of proficiency both male and female were chosen randomly. They were from 10-25 years old. They wererequested to answer reading comprehension questions after reading different passages. After considering the papersdifferent results were revealed. Results showed that in general, learners with higher education had a better inferentialcomprehension than other learners. Also age caused an obvious difference in research results. Adult learnersperformed better because they had better background knowledge and they were experienced. In some cases memorycapacity had enormous effect on results. The learners who had extended vocabulary were more successful. So it was identified that education, memory capacity, age, and vocabulary span were the most important factors that affect inferential comprehension
