In many ways, internet enabled us to be more productive, and actually saved a lot of time for us as we performOur various day-to-day tasks. Unfortunately, extreme use of the internet could significantly interfere with functioning inother areas of life such as relationships, education, work, physical heath, and emotional well-being. The world exposedmany problems with overreliance on the internet, while most people could easily disconnect themselves from theinternet and spend their time with friends and family members in person, some people experienced huge anxiety whenthey forced to be without their phones, computers, or tablets. Internet addiction had described as an impulse-controldisorder by behavioral health experts and functions as an escape from real life—internet addicts used the internet as afantasy world to connect people online as a substitute for face-to-face interaction. However, there arecertain warning signs that may indicate your internet use has become problematic. This study tries to present astraightforward picture of internet addiction and investigate the effect of gender on it.
