Abstract:

Background and Aim : Quality care providing is one of the main goals of health care servicesand nurse is a team axis and key role in this issue. Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluatethe quality of nursing care from nurses view points and its relationship with demographic andprofessional s variables.Methods : This was a descriptive-analytic study that was performed by demographic and standardquality patient care scale(QUALPAC) questionnaire which has 72 questions in terms ofpsychosocial, physical and communication dimensions based on Likert scale. The sampleconsisted of 200 nurses WHO worked in the intensive care unit that were entered into the study bysimple sampling. Descriptive and inferential statistical tests were used to analyze the data in thesoftware v 18 spss.Results : Of the subjects, 185 cases (92.5%) was women and more of them 59 cases (29%) had ahistory of 5 to 9 years of working in the intensive care unit. The results of the study from researchunits viewpoints showed that the average quality of nursing care in patients was favorable inphysical and communication dimensions (2.63 ± 0.29) and in psychosocial aspect (2.45 ± 0.28) tosome extent desirable. Also, there was a significant relationship between age, experience, type ofemployment and the amount of overtime working were related to the quality of nursing care (p<0.05).Conclusion : Considering the existence of a significant relationship between professional qualit iesand the quality of holistic nursing care, the results of this research can be applied to healthmanagers by adjusting the amount of overtime hours and taking into account the experience of anursing expert, an effective step in formulating the necessary policies in Improving the quality ofnursing care.
