Abstract:
Tremendous excavation and also risk of infrastructure damages were causes inclination to trenchless method. So, Trenchless methods are extensively utilized in order to construct and replace of new and worn out pipe lines. However, soil deformations and also ground subsidence is of great concern in these methods. Moreover, since over splitting is inevitable during pipe jacking procedure, soil deformation and ground settlements should be considered in critical situations. In the present research, settlements of the ground caused by two sets of pipe jacks are simulated. Furthermore, the result of effective parameters such as embedded depth, diameter of replaced pipe, deformation rate and also type of soil were evaluated and reasonable agreement with experimental test data was achieved. By the present simulation, not only could be obtained the stress field in the soil and settlement of the ground, but also the optimum forces for the pipe jacking process could be attained.
