Knowledge and Practice of Nurses working in Special Departments of Khatam Alnbia Hospital in Shoushtar, Iran from the Defibrillator in 2017

Abstract:

Defibrillator is used to reverse circulation during systole in cardiovascular and pulmonary resuscitation. This study was conducted to evaluate the knowledge and practice of nurses from defibrillators of special care units in Khatam al-Alnbia hospital in Shoushtar City in 2017.Materials and Methods: This is a descriptive-fetal study. In this study, 80 nurses working with ICU, CCU, Dialysis with informed consent and entry criteria entered the study. The Demographic information Questionnaire and a researcher-made questionnaire designed for knowledge and practice of nurses from defibrillator. The questionnaire consisted of 27 questions of four options that were assigned to the correct answer (score 1) and the wrong answer (score 0), and the performance questionnaire included I have 15 questions that I agree with as Likret scale of 5 options (5th grade), I agree (score 4), I disagree (score 3), I disagree (score 2), and totally disagree (score 1). Nurses knowledge score was assessed at three levels of good score (18 to 27), moderate (11 to 17) and poor (10-10). Also, the level of performance was classified as good (55-75), moderate (15-34), poor (54-35). Descriptive statistics and ANOVA were used using Spss21 software.Results: The results showed that 50 (n = 63) female nurses were descriptive statistics. 40 (40%) were in the age group of 30-30 years old. 30% of the nurses had a low level of awareness and about 50% of their knowledge was weak. In terms of performance, 40% were weak and 40% had moderate performance. In examining the variables, a significant relationship was found between age, education, work experience and department with knowledge and practice of defibrillator (P <0.05). Using Pearson correlation coefficient, there was a significant direct and negative relationship between knowledge and practice.Conclusion:The present study that poor level of knowledge and practice of nurses from defibrillator That is, with Laxman s study in one direction suggests is recommended by taking formal courses for personnel in order to increase the information of nurses
