Abstract:

Copper oxide nanoparticles were generated by first harmonic (λ=1064 nm) of pulsed nanosecond Nd:YAG laser. The ablation was performed of a copper target in THF and THF with 0.8 wt% concentration of PS. Optical properties of nanoparticles has been characterized by ultraviolet-visible absorption and photoluminescence emission spectra. We observed the absorption peaks for the nanocomposites produced in THF with 0.8 wt% concentration of PS by 280 mJ/pulse at 294 and 600 nm. There are two peaks in the photoluminescence emission spectra of nanocomposites at 365 and 426 nm. The optical properties indicate the production of Cu2O/CuO/polymer nanocomposites. Size and agglomeration of produced nanocomposites analyzed by dynamic light scattering. According to the results by adding PS, smaller nanoparticles with less agglomeration produced. This confirms the capping protection role of PS against aggregate.
