Abstract:
The benefit of TiO(2) and TiO(2)-SiO(2) on the hydrolysis reaction of cellulose under microwave irradiation was studied. The TiO(2)-SiO(2) nanocatalysts with different molar ratio of Ti/Si were successfully prepared via sol-gel process. An exception to catalytic activity was observed for nanocatalyst with a 70 mol% of Ti/Si. The suitable calcinations temperature for TiO(2) was at 450 ºC, whereas that for TiO(2)-SiO(2) was 700 ºC. The highest product yield were observed at a hydrolysis temperature of 220 ºC for 10 min irradiation time in which the carbohydrate in reaction mixture reached to 2416.18 ppm.
